ILOILO City – In Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao district, a man was found dead at a riverbank.
A village watch discovered the body of the 44-year-old Alan Dingcong, a police report showed.
Dingcong was believed electrocuted. Investigation showed the man was electrofishing at the riverbank.
Police were still looking further into the death as of this writing.
Barangay tanod Maria Morena Trayfalgar, 48, told the police she was walking home at around 12:30 a.m. on June 11 when she found the body of Dingcong face-down.
Dingcong was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center, also in Mandurriao, where he was pronounced “dead on arrival” at 12:45 a.m., the district police said.
