ILOILO City – An official of the Board of Investments (BOI) lauded Iloilo City for its “very advanced” business processing.

During the Investment Briefing/Counseling Seminar for Iloilo City local government units’ frontliners yesterday at the Iloilo City Hall, BOI director for Investment Assistance Service Domingo Bagaporo said this city is one of the next wave cities in the country because of its investment-friendly environment, citing its modern business registration services, flourishing business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, and good tourism industry.

“I have to laud Iloilo for its very advanced business processing … your business licensing I think is very advanced … The licenses are automated and I think that is a sign of progress,” Bagaporo said.

“You have a very good BPO [sector]. You have good schools, manpower, infrastructure, facilities. Your good universities are one of the reasons why BPOs keep coming here. The tourism is also good,” he added.

During the seminar, Bagaporo discussed the tasks of the BOI, an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The BOI official underscored that the agency’s investment counseling activities and aftercare services are significant in attracting and keeping investors.

“Inalalayan namin ang mga clients. Local and foreign investors should be guided and assisted,” Bagaporo explained./PN
