BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental vice governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson believes that Negrenses must give the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law more time to prove itself beneficial to the public.
He said revenues collected under TRAIN – which caused the prices of basic commodities to surge – will be used for huge infrastructure projects across the country.
Lacson said this as he expressed interest in attending the Senate Oversight Committee meeting that will tackle the effects of TRAIN.
The country’s inflation rate increased 4 percent, according to Lacson.
The vice governor said he is optimistic that the Build, Build, Build program of the national government will be felt in Negros Occidental.
But while suggesting that the tax reform must not be repealed, Lacson said the government must also look into entities that “take advantage of the situation.”/PN
