ILOILO City – Another suspected “bookies” bet collector was arrested, this time in Barangay Embarcadero, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The 47-year-old Joseph Benjie Balasco was detained at the Dumangas police station.
Officers caught Balasco soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game around 11 a.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
A bundle of cotejos (betting stubs), a black ball pen, a carbon paper, and P350 bet money were seized from him, police said.
On Tuesday two senior citizens were arrested in Banate town for a similar offense.
The 60-year-old Larry Vendeflor and the 67-year-old Joey Rosana were detained at the Banate police station.
Gambling paraphernalia and P1,675 worth of bets were seized from the illegal gambling suspects, police said./PN
