ILOILO City – Police arrested two men engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Poblacion, San Dionisio, Iloilo.
Marianito Ibañes, 68, was a resident of Barangay Pase, San Dionisio and Jimmy Albarado, 70, was from the town’s Barangay Siempreviva.
They were caught collecting bets for the illegal numbers game “bookies” around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 2.
Recovered their possession were bet money amounting to P525 and gambling paraphernalia.
Ibañes and Siempreviva were detained in the custodial facility of the municipal police station.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties for illegal gambling will be filed against them./PN
