ILOILO CIity – Police arrested a 65-year-old man engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Progreso, Lapuz district.
Resident Ramon Salarda was caught collecting bets for the illegal numbers game of bookies around 1:30 p.m. on March 7.
Recovered from his possession were bet money amounting to P1,010 and gambling paraphernalia.
He was detained in the custodial facility of the La Paz police station.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties for illegal gambling will be filed against Salarda./PN
