BORACAY – More cruise ships will make port calls to Boracay Island in the first and second quarters of 2024, bringing the number of international ships to eight from January to April.
MV Resorts World One will be on Boracay Island on Feb. 7 after a six-night sailing from Singapore.
The cruise ship had her inaugural voyage to the country on Jan. 24, bringing in over 2,700 guests and crew on a five-night journey from Hong Kong.
“The Philippines marks our first new destination in 2024, and we are excited to include both Manila and Boracay as part of this special five-night cruise aboard Resorts World One from Hong Kong,” said Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises, in a statement.
MV Norwegian Jewel stops on Boracay Island on Feb. 25 in an 11-night Asia sailing, while the Holland America Line embarks on a 15-day “The Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan” itinerary, including a voyage from Yokohama, Japan to Boracay Island on Feb. 25 en route to Hong Kong.
MV Resorts World One will return to the island on March 5.
Crystal Symphony arrives in Boracay Island on March 7 in a 53-night South Pacific-Bali to Mumbai sailing.
Seabourn Sojourn resumes sailing on a 50-night World Cruise: Australia & Imperial Asia and will port call to Boracay Island on March 17, while Windsor Star Breeze, an all-suite luxury yacht, will sail to Boracay Island on April 4.
As of Jan. 15, the Malay-Boracay Tourism Office recorded a total of 83,479 tourist arrivals. Of these, 19,247 were foreign, 61,768 were domestic, and 2,464 were overseas Filipino workers./PN
