MALAY, Aklan – Properties worth around P300,000 went up in smoke as fire gutted several houses at Sitio Pinaungon Ibabaw in Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island.
Around 25 residential houses – made of light materials – were razed by fire on Oct. 10, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Fire Officer 3 Franklin Arubang said they responded in the area when they received a call for assistance around 5:50 p.m.
According to three witnesses, the fire started at a rented house occupied by a couple. They allegedly heard the couple quarreling and a loud explosion just before the incident happened.
The BFP declared “fire out” around 6:52 p.m.
There was no casualty reported in the incident.(With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
