BORACAY – Two houses were totally gutted after a fire hit Barangay Manoc-Manoc in this famed island resort around 12:05 p.m. on Saturday.
Properties worth around P70,000 all went up in smoke, according to fire investigators.
Henry Ildesa, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Boracay substation officer, said the blaze originated from a house owned by 39-year-old Angelyn Roda.
The fire quickly spread burning the two houses made of light materials. The adjacent sari-sari store was also partially damaged.
“Malaki na ang sunog nang dumating kami. Nag bucket brigade din ang mga residente at mga volunteers na tumulong para maapula ang sunog. Sa lakas ng apoy, madaling kumalat ang sunog,” he said.
The BFP-Boracay reported no casualties in the incident and declared a “fire-out” around 12:35 p.m. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
