BORACAY – The Malay, Aklan municipal police station is working to implement a three-minute response time to crimes and any other eventualities in Boracay Island.

Malay acting police chief Lieutenant Colonel Dainis Ortega Amuguis said the town’s 290-strong police force hopes to respond to emergency and non-emergency cases as swiftly as possible.

Their template is the three-minute response time of the Quezon City Police District Integrated Command Center whose state-of-the-art facility integrates technologies and systems to boost the capabilities of police officers.

Amuguis said simulation exercises on early response policies are conducted by various law enforcement agencies in the island on weekends.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class 2007, Amuguis has been the acting police chief of the Malay municipal police station since last month following the reassignment of then police chief Lieutenant Colonel Don Dicksie De Dios./PN
