BORACAY – This island will be hosting the 3rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN), the ASEAN Digital Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADGSOM) and related meetings with dialogue partners from Feb. 6 to 10.
It will be attended by information and communications technology (ICT) ministers and government leaders of ASEAN member states, which are expected to forge stronger collaboration for a better and more sustainable digital future.
The conference is anchored on the theme “Synergy Towards a Sustainable Digital Future”. It aims to highlight how ASEAN countries can synergize toward building a human-centric approach to using ICTs to address key challenges.
Mayor Floribar Bautista is hoping the gathering would further hasten the island’s tourism and travel recovery impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
With the easing of travel restrictions for foreign and domestic tourists, Boracay Island recorded 1.752 million arrivals last year./PN
