BORACAY – The island paradise of Boracay in Malay, Aklan is set to receive 17 cruise ships this 2025, nearly doubling the nine arrivals recorded in 2024, according to the port cruise ship operations office in Aklan.
The cruise ship visits will be spread across the year, with five scheduled for January, including prominent vessels like Aidastella, Norwegian Sky, and Seaborne Encore.
February will also see five arrivals, followed by four in March, two in September, and one in December.
The Malay Boracay Tourism Office announced that preparations are underway to provide a seamless and memorable experience for international visitors.
The collaboration between the local government unit (LGU) and the Provincial Government of Aklan focuses on improving port facilities, streamlining tourist services, and organizing cultural events to showcase Boracay’s unique heritage and natural attractions.
The increase in cruise ship visits underscores Boracay’s rising prominence as a premier tourist destination in Asia.
Local stakeholders are optimistic that the surge in arrivals will boost tourism revenues and provide more opportunities for businesses and communities on the island.
