DEAR Self,
February is your birth month. I know you are happy because you have reached another year of your life. God is good for giving you good health always and for guiding you in everything that you do. You will not be able to reach this far if not for God’s love and mercy.
You are truly blessed. You have a supportive husband and a beautiful daughter. You have loyal friends. You are appreciated and treasured in your workplace. What more can you ask for?
I wish that you will continue to take care of your health, be a loving and responsible mom to your daughter, be an understanding and patient spouse to your husband, be a faithful friend, and a hardworking employee.
I wish that you will grow in wisdom and knowledge. What is right for you may not always be right for others. Learn to accept the weaknesses of people around you. Remember you are also imperfect. Hence, do not forget to put yourself on other people’s shoes before making any judgment.
I wish that you will reach your dreams. You are a person who never gets tired of pursuing what your heart desires. Work hard to get what you want. Always remember that the journey towards your dream may not be smooth. Be prepared to make the necessary adjustments. I have no doubt that you can do it because you have been to many challenges in your life and you were able to surpass all of those because of your never-say-die attitude. When the going gets tough, you always pray and do something to improve the situation. You have a strong support system (your nanay, tatay, sisters and brother, in-laws and relatives). I know that they are a big factor of your strength. I hope to see you someday slowly realizing your dreams.
I wish you will find happiness. I am aware that you are happy and contented but I am also aware that there is an empty space in your heart. You continue to search for something that will fill the void. I pray that you will find what your heart truly desires.
Please know that I am proud of what you have become. You have transitioned into a fine lady. You have learned to accept your imperfections. You have embraced yourself and your talents. You discovered the people who deserve your trust and love.
You have been hurt before but you never allowed yourself to be trampled. You rise and proved your detractors that they cannot pull you down and they will never ever end up victorious.
To end, enjoy your birthday. Be grateful to those people who love you. Continue to inspire other people to be the best version of themselves. You deserve a pat on your back for doing your best to make your family proud of you.
Lastly, here is something you can ponder on as you face another milestone of your life. Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul./PN
