BOUND FOR ILOILO? City gov’t require travelers negative RT-PCR test result

ILOILO City – Traveling to this southern city?

People coming in must present a negative result of their reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test first, undertaken 72 hours prior to traveling, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Upon arrival, however, Treñas said travelers would no longer be subject to quarantine.

“To ensure the safety of the airline passengers entering Iloilo City, I signed Executive Order No. 18-B, amending the guidelines for persons traveling to the city,” said Treñas.

This EO was in preparation for the full implementation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease’s Resolution No. 101 which provides uniform protocols for all local government units.

Travelers referred in the EO included authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) staying here more than 24 hours, and all other persons traveling here such as locally stranded individuals, returning overseas Filipinos, and persons on non-essential travel/tourists.

The EO also required them to obtain a Notice of Coordination and Acceptance through the Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center (IC-EOC) prior to their intended date of travel.

Moreover, those who experience any signs and symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), such as but not limited to fever, cough, chills, sore throat, headache, loss of sense of taste and/or smell, must immediately inform the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team assigned.

In pursuance of the instruction given by local health authorities, individuals must immediately submit themselves to RT-PCR testing at a facility of their choice.

Those with negative RT-PCR results will be released and endorsed to their respective barangays for monitoring.

Confirmed cases will have to complete 14 days of quarantine from the date of initial RT-PCR testing at the designated quarantine facility or accredited facilities. If already negative, they will be allowed to go home.

Meanwhile, for APOR staying here for 24 hours or less, they must also obtain Notice of Coordination and Acceptance through the IC-EOC./PN
