BACOLOD City – In Escalante City, Negros Occidental a 12-year-old boy died in a vehicular accident along the national road in Sitio Tanquinto, Barangay Jonob-Jonob.
The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. on June 2. The boy was crossing the road. (His identity is being withheld upon the request of the authorities.)
He got hit by a delivery van being driven by a 40-year-old man who was subsequently detained at the Escalante City police station.
Staff Sergeant Alberto Dela Cruz, traffic investigator, identified the van driver as Harim Marquez, of Tondo, Manila.
The boy died instantly./PN
