BACOLOD City – A 13-year-old boy was found dead in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Police investigators ruled the death as suicide, a blotter report showed.
His 19-year-old friend Renz Jou Paglumutan found the boy on June 6 hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom. Around his neck was a belt tied to a rope, the Himamaylan City police station said.
Paglumutan went to the boy’s house to tell the latter’s father that someone wanted to buy their pig.
He saw that the boy’s bedroom was open and called out to him, but there was no response. He went inside and found the body, police said.
The boy’s family brought him to the Kabankalan City District Hospital where an attending physician, Dr. Ian Caagbay, pronounced him dead.
Police investigators found no foul play in the death.
The boy was left alone in the house. His parents brought his siblings to school, investigation further showed.
Police talked to the father, who told them they were clueless as to the motive but said he and his wife had a confrontation before they left home.
It was not immediately clear as of this writing what the confrontation was about./PN
