BACOLOD City – Another drowning incident was recorded in a river in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
This time, a 6-year-old boy was found unconscious on the riverbank in Sitio Bunga, Barangay Basak, Cauayan, police said.
The boy who the police have yet to identify was found around 8 p.m. on Monday.
He was rushed to the Cauayan District Hospital but attending physician Dr. Shanta Octaviano pronounced him dead.
On Sunday, two farmers also died of drowning in a river in Barangay Yao-yao, Cauayan.
Municipal police head Chief Inspector James Latayon identified them as Jobar Gana-an and Nestor Lasay – both 50 years old and residents of Sitio Buclao, Barangay Tuyum, Cauayan./PN
