ILOILO City – A minor who is the most wanted person in the town of Lemery, Iloilo was arrested at 8 a.m. yesterday in their house in Barangay Bangcal.
The 14-year-old Toto (not his real name) tried to escape when personnel of the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (RCIDU) and Lemery police station served him two arrest warrants for “carnapping”.
The warrants were issued by Judge Rogelio Amador of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 68.
The police also arrested his elder brothers Mark Anthony Perez, 18, and Eric, 20, who are now detained at the Iloilo Provincial Integrated Jail (IPIJ) in Barangay Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo.
Eric and Marl Anthony were detained since last year for another case – illegal possession of guns and ammunition in Pototan town.
According to Insp. Hernan Celiz, Lemery police chief, the Perez brothers stole two motorcycles parked in the garage of the Daanoy family in Barangay Gerongan, Lemery sometime in 2013.
Toto is now in the custody of RCIDU and will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development./PN
