Brace for weekend power outage, Negrenses told

BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Cenenco) and Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative announced power interruptions in some areas of this province this weekend.
“Electricity consumers are advised that in the event of any power interruption, electrical switch/switches should be turned-off for safety reasons,” said Ceneco officer-in-charge Jose Taniongon

He added: “When electricity supply resumes, please provide allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.”/PN

In Murcia, the portion of the town proper and Barangay Salvacion along with the whole Sta. Cruz and Alegria villages will experience power outage from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 20.

According to Ceneco, a relocation of R14 disconnecting cut-outs switch and massive replacement of pin insulators from Farmville Subdivision to proper Alegria and line clearing activity will be done.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 21, on the other hand, a maintenance activity along Valladolid-San Enrique 69-kilovolt power line is set to be conducted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

The NGCP said areas under the San Enrique sub-station will be affected by the long power interruption./PN
