PHOENIX Suns has started their buildup for the upcoming NBA Season with the acquisition of Bradley Beal from Washington Wizards via a three-team trade.
According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns secured the services of Beal by sending Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, multiple second round picks and pick swaps to the Wizards.
The three-time NBA All Star’s move to the Suns for the 2023-2024 NBA Season was made possible after the veteran guard opted to waive his no trade clause.
Beal, a third overall pick by Washington in the 2012 NBA Draft, spend his first 11 seasons in the NBA with the Wizards where he had career averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Last season, the 29-year-old Beal normed 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists in almost 22 minutes of action after suiting up for 50 games with the Wizards.
At Phoenix, the 6-foot-4 Beal is set to form a formidable offensive lineup with two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton.
The Suns came from a disappointing second round exit in the just-concluded NBA season after being defeated by eventual champions Denver Nuggets in six games.
Phoenix already made some front office changes by firing former head coach Monty Williams, now with Detroit Pistons, and hiring one-time NBA champion mentor Frank Vogel.
Meanwhile, the complete framework of the trade deal is still being finalized as the Wizards is reportedly looking for a third team that will acquire the services of Paul.
Among the team that the Wizards are currently in contact with is Los Angeles Clippers, which also served as Paul’s team from 2011 to 2017, as well as Los Angeles Lakers./PN
