BACOLOD City – Port operator Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) will inaugurate its newly-built seaport terminal at the Reclamation Area in this city today.
Romeo Casela, Bredco port manager, said it’s a special day for Bacolod because it’s just in time with the city’s Charter Day celebration.
“City officials led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Cong. Greg Gasataya will be attending the inauguration,” said Casela.
The P400-million air-conditioned Simplicio Palanca Seaport Terminal is already 100-percent operational after its dry-run last May 29, 2018.
It is equipped with free Wi-Fi, an x-ray machine and seats that can accommodate about 3,500 passengers. Around 31 security officers are also deployed in the area.
“We have food and pasalubong stalls and prayer room. CCTV cameras were also installed in the entire terminal,” Casela noted.
The port manager said they cater passengers of fast crafts with route Bacolod to Iloilo and Iloilo to Bacolod, as well as the ship of To Go with route Bacolod to Manila and vice versa. He added they are also set to construct a new terminal for roll on, roll off vessel near the area./PN
