BACOLOD City – Police hope to identify the suspects in a shooting in Barangay 29 through footage from security cameras.

A business establishment promised to provide copies of the footage captured by their closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, Senior Inspector Eugene Tolentino, Police Station 1 commander, said on Friday.

John Emerson Seron, 21, of Barangay 30 was shot inside GAB’s Gaming and Pisonet on corner Mabini-Luzuriaga streets around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

He was playing a video game when attacked.

The shooter and a companion fled on board a motorcycle.

Police launched a manhunt. They failed to find the shooter but recovered the motorcycle, a ball cap and a helmet on Rojas Street, Barangay 39.

Tolentino said they will check the CCTV footage from the establishment near where the items were found.

Police have yet to determine the motive and the caliber of firearm the suspect used as of this writing.

Seron sustained gunshot wound on the back. He was taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital./PN
