FOR her tribute, Portia Carlos shared a pair of photos on Facebook – of her and her late boyfriend, Razorback drummer Brian Velasco, happily locked in an embrace.
She was smiling, much like in the other ones on her profile page where her smile appears to flicker into life whenever Velasco was near her. But make no mistake, this is no warm invitation to discuss what happened.
“We, the closest, have not seen it,” she wrote.
“I don’t ever want to see it. Not even a screenshot. Please think of that when you feel like sharing or spreading it. PLEASE DON’T BE A PARTY TO ME SEEING IT,” she added.
Carlos also had a warning for those planning to pay their respects at Velasco’s wake, and for those looking to post further tributes online.
“I understand you [are hurting] also but please process what you saw and how you felt about it with somebody else.”
“Please don’t tag me in your tributes or photos with him either. I only want to see them when I’m ready to see them,” she explained.
Velasco died in an apparent suicide Wednesday morning.
Carlos has been opening up about her grief online, sharing that she and Velasco were already discussing “getting health insurance” for when they grow old together and “all the abuse on our lives and lungs and bad yummy food kick in.”
She also described him as his “greatest love.” (ABS-CBN News)
