Brooklyn survives Milwaukee’s late run in NBA

BROOKLYN Nets thwarted Milwaukee Bucks’ fourth quarter uprising for a 113-110 victory in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Thursday night (Friday morning in the Philippines) at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Leading by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, the Nets saw their advantage cut to as low as 111-110 by a furious Bucks’ run with under a minute left.

Milwaukee had a chance to take the lead but Giannis Antetokounmpo missed on a layup attempt. Brooklyn’s Ziaire Williams then connected two free throws to make it a 113-110 count.

Cameron Johnson led the way for the Nets with 26 points, including six three-point conversions, while Cameron Thomas added 24 points and seven rebounds.

Nicholas Claxton tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds, Jalen Wilson ended with 13 markers, and D’Angelo Russell contributed 11 points and 12 assists as the Nets improved to a 13-21 win-loss slate.

Antetokounmpo finished with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists to lead the Bucks (17-15), Damian Lillard added 23 markers, while Bobby Portis Jr., Khris Middleton, and Gary Trent Jr. ended with 15, 12, and 10, respectively.

Meanwhile, Indiana Pacers (17-18) cruised to a dominant 128-115 victory over Miami Heat (17-15) over at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Tyrese Haliburton finished with a double-double of 33 points and 15 assists, while Myles Turner contributed 21 markers, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks for the Pacers.

Paskal Siakam ended with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Bennedict Mathurin, Obi Toppin, and Jarace Walker ended with 12 apiece for Indiana.

Kel’el Ware tallied a career-high of 25 points to lead the Heat, Bam Adebayo added 20 markers, while Tyler Herro and Terry Rozier had 17 and 16 points, respectively./PN
