BACOLOD City – Some 29 motorcycles were fined by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) for violating traffic ordinances in this city.

Jose Antonio Robello, deputy officer-in-charge of BTAO, said they received several complaints against a certain motorcycle retailer allegedly occupying the sidewalk along Araneta Street as their display area.

Several parents spoke out for the safety of their children against the road obstruction. With this, BTAO has deemed it hazardous for students from the across-the-street Negros Occidental High School.

Robello said the BTAO has alarmed the establishment multiple times, but the latter has allegedly been ignoring the warning.

Each violating motorcycle was fined P1,000—P600 for clamping, P300 for illegal parking, and P100 for obstruction./PN
