BTAO to implement road closure at Inasal Festival sites

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will implement road closures in two sites during the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival on May 26 to 28.

Police Major Junji Liba, BTAO head, said the road along the Manokan Country and the North Capitol Road will be closed to motorists.

Specifically, Lacson and Aguinaldo Streets in the area of the Seda Hotel and Ferrero Street will be closed from 2 p.m. onward.

The opening ceremony will be held on North Capitol Road.

Jeepneys plying the routes of Mandalagan, Bata and Fortune Towne will be affected, but Liba said the BTAO will release another advisory with a traffic rerouting plan.

Meanwhile, the Upper East Megaworld, the third festival site, will host the “longest” 320-meter-long chicken grilling station at 5 p.m. on May 27, sponsored by several nongovernmental organizations.

The three-day gastronomic celebration will also include beer tasting and pairing, an inasal cook-off, and local guest chefs’ chicken inasal renditions, among others.

The SP passed an ordinance amending City Ordinance (CO) No. 847, which amended CO 482, “establishing yearly festivities to be known as the Manokan Country Inasal Festival in the City of Bacolod” to be held in May./PN
