BTS next to BTS: New album now 2nd bestseller in SK history

SOUTH Korean group BTS made history in the Asian nation by passing one of the most successful releases ever.

Map of the Soul: 7 has now sold 3.343 million copies in South Korea alone, an absolutely insane sum considering the fact that it has only been out for less than a complete tracking frame. The number reportedly makes the newly-launched set the second-bestseller in the country’s history.

The said album now sits behind only one other album, which holds onto its distinction of being the bestselling title in South Korean history: also BTS’ 2019 offering Map of the Soul: Persona that has now sold at least 3.718 million copies, which it managed last year alone.

BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 smashed records when it first arrived, moving over two and a half million copies in its first day of availability alone and becoming the first title in South Korean history to sell three million units in just one week, a feat it managed in four days. (Forbes)
