Buenavista 642 ‘Odette’ affected families received cash assistance

BUENAVISTA, Guimaras – The 642 families that were affected by typhoon ‘Odette’ received cash assistance in the town of Buenavista, Guimaras last February 11.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWDO) through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Buenavista distributed the cash assistance to the affected families.

The cash assistance is P1,000 per person or a maximum of P5,000 per family.

A total of 2,374,000 pesos fund was released by DSWD for eight barangays of Buenavista.

This cash assistance is intended to buy materials and other equipment to rebuild their houses, when typhoon ‘Odette’ strike in Region-6 last December 2021.  

The remaining 28 barangays in Buenavista are expected to receive cash assistance in the coming distribution.

Buenavista, Guimaras composed of 36 barangays namely: Agsanayan, Avila, Banban, Bacjao (Calumingan), Cansilayan, Dagsaan, Daragan, East Valencia (Mantangingi), Getulio (Il), Mabini, Magsaysay, McLain, Montpiller, Navalas, Nazaret, New Poblacion (Calingao), Old Poblacion (Daan Banwa), Piña, Rizal, Salvacion (Ambulong), San Fernando, San Isidro, San Miguel, San Nicolas (Tabao), San Pedro (Bating), San Roque, Santo Rosario, Sawang, Supang, Tacay, Taminla(Sambag), Tanag, Tastasan, Tinadtaran, Umilig, and Zaldivar./PN
