GUIMARAS – Buenavista National High School was hailed as champions in the NBTC League Guimaras Qualifying Leg which closed on Saturday at the San Roque Covered Gym here.
It scored 107-103 in overtime over the Doctor Catalino G. Nava National High School in the one game finale.
John Carlo Dofitas was chosen as Most Outstanding Player in the championship game after displaying game-long brilliance of 21 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
As additional incentive for topping the Guimaras leg, Buenavista National High School will play in the NBTC Regional Finals on Februrary 2020 in Ibajay, Aklan for a chance to represent Western Visayas in the NBTC National Finals.
Buenavista National High School entered the championship round after defeating Cabalagnan National High School in the semifinals, 73-64, while Doctor Catalino G. Nava National cruised to a 67-57 triumph over Simeon J Jabasa National High School.
