Buenavista hits 5-0 slate in NBTC-Guimaras

BUENAVISTA National High School stretched its winning run in the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Guimaras leg to five games on Saturday in Barangay McLain, Buenavista, Guimaras.

Buenavista NHS maintained its unblemished slate after a one-sided victory over the cellar-dwelling Agsanayan NHS with all of the former’s players contributing on the offense.

Miguel Joshua was named Best Player for Buenavista with 16 points.

Meanwhile Good Shepherd’s Fold Academy pulled off a huge upset as it took down Guimaras State College – the defending champion – 95-91. Clint Alconga was hailed as Best Player with 22 points.

In the day’s other match, Jordan NHS vanquished East Valencia NHS 77-60. John Paul Ronzales was the high-point man for Jordan with 10 markers.

Buenavista was on top of team standings as of Saturday (5-0). Guimaras State College followed 3-1, while Good Shepherd and Sta. Teresa NHS were knotted at 2-2.

Agsanayan, East Valencia and Jordan all tied at the bottom with 1-3./PN
