BUGASONG, Antique – A 48-year-old man in Barangay Pangalgacan was arrested for hacking a neighbor to death.
Franklin Castillon is facing a murder charge. He was hauled to the municipal police station’s lockup facility.
Rivy Pindoy, 35, was on his way home around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 when Castillon hacked him with a 27-inch bolo.
Pindoy died of multiple wounds on the head and body. His left hand was severed, too.
It was not immediately clear what the motive was.
But Castillon was also a suspect in the death of Pindoy’s father years ago, according to Senior Inspector Bryan Alamo, information officer of the Antique Police Provincial Office.
A complaint was filed against him, but it was withdrawn after a settlement with the victim’s family./PN
