Bulalacao leaving WV without solving 5 ‘salvage’ cases

ILOILO City – Western Visayas police director Brigadier General John Bulalacao is retiring from the police service this June 27 without solving five recent cases of summary executions.

“We admit that we find it hard to solve these cases. We need the help of the community and witnesses,” said Bulalacao yesterday.

In some of these cases, he said, the gunmen were wearing bonnets and helmets to hide their faces, or footages from closed-circuit television cameras that recorded the crimes were blurry.

Bulalacao is retiring effective June 27, his 56th birthday. It is the compulsory age of retirement for policemen.

The most recent “salvage” case was the murder of 23-year-old Colt Premarion of Barangay Pasig, Lambunao, Iloilo. He was found dead in Barangay Bitaog, Santa Barbara, Iloilo on June 8.

A suspect in a series of motorcycle robberies, Premarion died of multiple gunshot wounds on the head and body. His hands were bound with packing tape.

On May 28 the body of 29-year-old Marlyn Serdeña of Barangay San Miguel, Buenavista, Guimaras was recovered in Barangay Dalusan, Dumangas, Iloilo.

This fish broker facing estafa charges at the Iloilo Fishing Port Complex in Molo district had a gunshot wound on her chest. Her hands were bound with packing tape.

On May 19 Romar Ordiales, 31, of Barangay Obrero, La Paz, Iloilo City was found dead in Barangay Lanipe, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. He had multiple gunshot wounds.

According to cousin Ervin Ordiales, two armed men abducted Romar in Jordan, Guimaras where he was supposed to watch the Manggahan Festival.
