BACOLOD City – Spending more time with his family will be Brigadier General John Bulalacao’s priority after he retires as regional police director in Western Visayas.
Bulalacao, who will leave his post at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) on June 26 in time for his 56th birthday, visited the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and the Bacolod City Police Office yesterday to bid farewell to his personnel.
Bulalacao laughed off the idea of entering politics once retired. He told reporters that he wants to rest and make up for the lost time with his family.
He also acknowledged bad blood with some police personnel in the province.
“If I go to them (police offices) one by one, I might say something that would be distasteful to those I’ve clashed with,” Bulalacao said.
Despite this, the outgoing regional police chief told police personnel in Negros Occidental to continue serving the people.
Bulalacao revealed he has yet to receive communication from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters regarding his successor.
Bulalacao’s assignment as PRO-6 director took effect on June 1, 2018. He replaced Brigadier General Cesar Hawthorne Binag, who was then transferred to the Directorate for Information and Communications office at the PNP headquarters.
Before being PRO-6 chief, Bulalacao was the spokesperson of the PNP./PN
