ROXAS City – A 10-year-old boy was hit by a bullet while he was sleeping inside a house in Barangay Quevedo, Maayon, Capiz, a police report showed.
Nel Evangelista of Barangay Balighot, Maayon was rushed to the Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra, Capiz but was later transferred to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in this capital city for further treatment.
It was around 10:30 p.m. on Friday when the 39-year-old Noel Evangelista arrived at the house and unloaded his 12-gauge shotgun.
But the weapon accidentally fired, hitting Nel, the report stated.
It was not immediately clear how Nel and Noel were related.
A team from the Maayon municipal police station led by Senior Inspector Valen Rommel Delos Santos responded to the area.
The report did not state if Noel was arrested./PN
