Bullshit!

THERE’S a report making the rounds in social and mainstream media purportedly from a certain Global Finance Magazine that places the Philippines as the least safe country from a list of 134 countries.

Take note that according to the International Standard Organization (ISO), there are 249 countries in the world. Meanwhile, the United Nations lists 195 countries with 193 of them members and two are not.

So how did the Philippines become the “least safe” country in the world?

Asians are being attacked on the streets while female joggers are molested in the United States of America and we are the least safe country in the world?  In that list, Somalia, Sudan and Afghanistan are safer than the Philippines; we might as well attack every white person we see. To say that the Philippines is the least safe country in the world is a lot of bullshit and you know it.

From where did those fools in Global Finance Magazine based their report? Obviously from Rappler and Maria Ressa describing the Philippines as a “war zone”.

Meanwhile, the so-called wokes and the rest of the three percent were right on cue and started sharing the obviously false and biased report because it fits their agenda against President Duterte, never mind that it puts the country in a bad light.

That’s how evil and stupid these people are. They’ll destroy their country just because it’s trendy for them to hate Duterte.

While we’re in the topic of stupidity…

Every opportunity they get, politicians always say they’re in it for public service and never for personal gain i.e. money. Having said that, then legislators must pass a law that all elected public officials should not be paid a salary and will not be given any access to public funds or projects.

Along that line, in order for them to be qualified to run for public office, they must be financially independent and any elected positions they aspire for should be based on their personal wealth as determined by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

So to be a barangay kagawad you have to be at least in the upper middle class income bracket while those aspiring to be President must be filthy rich i.e. Jaime Zobel Ayala or Lucio Tan level.

In this way we will have public officials who are sincerely for true public service and it will elevate public office as a vocation and calling to serve the people and not for money and power.

Still on stupidity…

Manny Pacquiao should run for President and if he wins it shows the world our democracy, although flawed, is very much alive. Of course it also proves that political maturity at best is still in the infantile stage and celebrity personality or fantasy still dominates the voters’ choice.

In a cruel twist of fate – or as a colleague said, “God forbid” – Pacquiao does indeed win, I’m sure we can live through another six years of stupidity and patronage politics, plus the usual corruption and plunder by his relatives and hangers on. After all, we had that nincompoop Noynoy Aquino and his incompetent mother Cory as presidents.

I suppose the only miniscule redeeming factor we have is that our flawed democracy works, the fools elected him as president just because he won a boxing match.

And this is what The Manila Times columnist Roberto Tiglao said in his July 9, 2021 column:

His candidacy will be good for our democracy and the country’s image, especially globally, which is in tatters because of the US media and their brown minions’ relentless tirades against President Duterte.

For a dirt-poor Filipino to become one of the greatest boxers of all time, and to cap his career by going for the highest post of the land, Pacquiao running for president will show the world that we are such a vibrant democracy, where anybody can vie for the position. The downside to this, of course, is the possibility that there would be a deluge of young Filipinos going into boxing rather than college, believing they could, like “Pacman,” later in their life get a four-year course in three months.

The silly reportage of US media and by the likes of Maria RessaRandy David and Sheila Coronel that we have an authoritarian government will be totally debunked if Pacman runs for president. The Philippines will be the darling of the foreign press.

And that’s all the bullshit we have. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com)/PN
