LEON, Iloilo – Buncag-Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors clinched the crown in the Gov. Toto Defensor Jr. Open Invitational Volleyball Cup 2019 on Saturday evening at the Leon Multi-Purpose Covered Gym here.
Team Buncag, which was led by Most Valuable Player awardee Roselyn Dusaran, captured the championship after beating Jiggy’s Angels in the finals.
Aside from Trongcoso, also part of the Buncag team were Glaudine Trongcoso, DM Demontano, Jackie Estoquia, Chrisann Susbilla, Jeannie delos Reyes, Sheryl Denila, Princess Pido, and Pinky Salavante.
On their way to the championship round, Buncag defeated the University of San Agustin Eagles squad, while the Jiggy’s Angels ousted the Negros Maddyline in the other semis game.
Negros Maddyline, on the other hand, was able to salvage a bronze medal finish after defeating USA Eagles in the battle for third place match.
In the men’s division, Osveta Sr. emerged as the champions after defeating Navigator 1 in the finals. Casim Esmael was named as the MVP. Navigator 2 finished at third place.
The Governor Toto Defensor Open Invitational Volleyball Cup 2019 was presented by the Provincial Government of Iloilo, Leon Volleyball Association and Municipality of Leon./PN
