ROXAS City – Several bundles of shredded peso bills were recently found in a vacant lot in Barangay Cagay.
The shredded bills in different Philippine peso denominations were placed inside transparent plastic trash bags.
The bundles of shredded money were supposed to be transported by a dump truck to the landfill in Barangay San Jose as trash, according to truck owner retired Senior Fire Officer 4 Jonathan Agrasada.
The truck, however, encountered mechanical problems that his men had to unload the trash to get the truck repaired.
They were surprised to discover that included in the trash were bundles of shredded peso bills.
Agrasada said the said trash came from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and not from any individual. (With a report from RMN Roxas/PN)
