ILOILO – A residence in a subdivision in Pavia town fell victim to a burglary.
The incident, as reported by the subdivision’s guard on duty, occurred in the early hours – around 5 a.m. on Sept. 29.
Staff Sergeant Luther Maderse of the Pavia municipal police station shared details from the closed-circuit television footage of the incident.
“The footage shows the suspect scaling a short wall to access the kitchen, which has stairs leading to the upper floor extension. The homeowners confirmed that the sliding door lock had been broken,” Maderse said.
The home’s occupants realized the intrusion when, around midnight, one of them found their living space disrupted. Several items, including appliances and equipment, were discovered missing.
Items reported stolen included a cell phone, credit cards, identification documents, and P600 in cash.
Maderse hinted at a concerning pattern, mentioning a similar incident from the previous month.
“There’s a possibility that the perpetrator had been surveilling their house,” he said.
The police are actively pursuing leads.
“We are conducting a hot pursuit operation,” said Maderse./PN
