INDEED, a philosopher once said, “An evil man will burn his own nation to rule over the ashes.”
That’s exactly what is happening at the House of Representatives with this alliance between the “Makabayan block” and the “Ayuda block” giving a much-needed resuscitation to the dying CPP/NPA/NDF insurgency, a classic case of using government resources to undermine the government.
The Makabayan block, the leftist card-bearing kind party-list representatives led by a certain France Castro, is calling the shots in Congress, specifically the “Quad-Com” hearings and other investigations purportedly in aid of legislation, but really in aid of persecution and re-election for them.
Take note, this France Castro is convicted of child abuse and kidnapping.
The CPP/NPA/NDF has shifted its focus from armed struggle to parliamentary struggle, meaning they’re no longer in the rural areas but in urban centers. They have infiltrated the three branches of government undermining democracy and national security. Communist party-lists are in Congress using government resources to undermine the government, while generating billions of money from government funds.
It would not be farfetched to say that almost all senators/congressmen have card-bearing consultants, and it’s probably true with the agencies in the executive branch and local government offices.
Quite ironic, a lot of provinces, cities and municipalities in the Philippines have been declared insurgency/NPA-free. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the House of Representatives.
It seems all the hard work of the AFP and the NTF-ELCAC in finally winning this more than 50 years “communist” insurgency is all for naught.
If we want the House of Representatives to be CPP/NPA/NDF-free also, it’s best to refrain from voting in the next elections their urban operatives masquerading as legitimate party-lists – Alliance of Concerned Teachers, Gabriela, and Kabataan.
By the way, the “Ayuda block” is a loose coalition of “profit-minded” legislators beholden to “you know who”, that portly congressman who wants to be the next president.
Meanwhile, a certain Tomas Dominado was recently arrested in Arevalo, Iloilo City. According to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Dominado was a Central Committee member of the Communist Party of the Philippines and former secretary of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Panay.
The ICPO also said Dominado is facing warrants of arrest for murder with the use of firearms and rebellion. Both warrants were issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz.
He was designated a terrorist by the Anti-Terrorism Council in 2021 after he was linked to the murder of Ruben Cabunagan and Arturo Tagudinay, and attempted murder of Jodie Mordice, all in 2007.
What was supposed to be a routine arrest of a suspected terrorist was exploited and milked by the usual suspects for propaganda purposes using the “victim card”.
So-called human rights group Karapatan denounced the arrest Dominado, who according to them (of course) was arrested on trumped-up charges of murder and rebellion, and his caregiver who was slapped with charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Anti-Terror Law for allegedly providing support to a “terrorist organization”.
In a statement, the ICPO refuted the claims by Karapatan that Dominado was abducted and denied healthcare, saying the arrest and detention followed proper legal procedures and adhered to humanitarian protocols.
The police stressed that Dominado’s constitutional rights were safeguarded, and medical attention was provided by the Regional Medical and Dental Unit of the Police Regional Office 6 and the Western Visayas Medical Center following his arrest.
Claims of abduction and deliberate denial of medical care are “entirely unfounded” and an attempt to misrepresent the actions of law enforcement.
The circus is definitely in town, politicians in Congress are “burning the house down” while pseudo-communists are playing the “victim card” with the usual boring theatrics./PN
