CAPIZ – A 44-year-old bus driver was accidentally shot to death in Barangay Dacuton, Dumarao town on Friday, June 21.
Alias “Noel,” a resident of the village, sustained gunshot wounds on his stomach and hand.
He was rushed to Dao District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Dumarao police said.
According to Police Captain Garfin Tobias, chief of the Dumarao Municipal Police Station (MPS), Noel was having a drinking binge with the suspect identified as his nephew alias “Ron” and other friends.
Tobias said the suspect’s firearm allegedly went off accidentally and hit the victim around 8:30 p.m.
The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of the Dumarao MPS after he surrendered.
