Bacolod City-More than P5 million worth of properties were lost due to the fire that hit the Carvi Upholstery Supply in Barangay Mandalagan, this city on Jan. 12.
The Bureau of Fire Protection(BFP) in this city clarified that the cost of damaged released to the media as of Jan. 12 was just only an initial report, as the bureau is still conducting an ongoing investigation.
It took about two-hour when the BFP declared the fired-out at 5 p.m. following the blazed that came out at about 2:55 p.m. from the establishment owned by Marisol Descutido .
The BFP cited that they have a hard time controlling the fire. According to City Fire Marshall Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, the fire deeply penetrates the materials inside the establishment such as the foams, tarpaulins, and others.
He said that a unit of a 6-wheeler canter truck and the car were not yet included in the initial cost of the properties that were damaged by the fire.
The BFP also reported that the adjacent business establishment was also hit by the blazed but, they are still yet to determine the cost of the damage./PN
