ILOILO City – A newly identified drug pushing suspect was busted in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City.
Regie Apa-ap, 32, of Barangay Milibili, Roxas City was a subgroup leader of slain top drug suspect Charles Lubao, according to Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director.
During interrogation at the Roxas City police station, Apa-ap said his drug supplier was a certain Nonoy Kalbo from Iloilo City.
Nacion said they were further checking the identity of this Nonoy Kalbo.
Apa-ap was arrested around 5:45 p.m. on May 12. Nacion said an undercover police officer transacted P10,000 worth of shabu from the suspect but when arrested, Apa-ap yielded P120,000 worth of shabu.
“We have been targeting him since February after he was released from jail for an illegal drug case,” said Nacion.
Apa-ap’s operation covered Roxas City and nearby areas in Capiz province and he stepped up his illegal activities after the death o f Lubao, added Nacion.
Lubao was shot to death by pursuing policemen in Barangay Tuburan, Zarraga, Iloilo last month./PN
