ROXAS City – Policemen arrested a 32-year-old man who evaded arrest during a buy-bust operation last year.
Erick Asignacion was a resident of Purok 2, Pavia, Iloilo but temporarily residing with an aunt in Barangay Lawaan here where he was arrested on Aug. 12 past 8 p.m.
A composite team of policemen from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, Pavia police station, Roxas City police station, and Regional Highway Patrol Unit 6 served Asignacion a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Victor Gelvezon of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 36 (Iloilo City) for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Asignacion was subjected to a buy-bust operation on Aug. 24, 2020. An undercover cop bought from him suspected shabu for P15,500, police said.
After escaping the buy-bust, Asignacion was monitored to be frequently changing residences – in Iloilo City, in Cabatuan, Iloilo and later on in Roxas City.
The court recommended no bail for Asignacion’s temporary liberty.
The suspect was brought to Pavia municipal police station for documentation prior his turnover to the court concerned./PN
