BACOLOD City – A late-night buy-bust operation led to the recovery of suspected shabu worth some P800,000 in Hacienda Busay, Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 44-year-old Joven Catipay of Barangay Pitalok, San Fernando, Cebu was arrested in the operation that the Talisay City Drug Enforcement Unit staged around 10:20 p.m.
Talisay City police head Superintendent Boots Aseo said Catipay – who temporarily resides in Barangay Efigenio Lizares – was caught on Tuesday after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P500.
When frisked, Catipay yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu and P1,000 cash.
Aseo said Catipay had been under the surveillance of the Talisay City and Silay City police stations for two weeks.
