Buy-busts yield P500K drugs

ILOILO City – On Wednesday, over half a million pesos worth of illegal drugs were seized in this city. Four drug suspects also ended up in lockup cells.

At around 4:20 p.m. in Barangay Rizal Ibarra, City Proper, high-value suspects “Ontoy,” “Rutchell,” and “Bongkoy” were cornered by combined elements of the Iloilo City Police Station 1, City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Police Drug Enforcement Group after they conspired to sell suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.

A total of 57 grams of the illegal substance, with a standard drug price of P387,600, were seized.

Earlier, at about 1:45 p.m. in Zone 3, Barangay Taal, Molo, operatives of Police Station 4 successfully apprehended a newly identified drug suspect known as “Insoy.”

More or less 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at P115,600 and a homemade firearm were confiscated during the operation.

The individuals are now under police custody and will face charges for violations under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
