BACOLOD City – Bystanders were able to apprehend a holdup suspect in Barangay Mansilingan, a police report showed.
The 19-year-old Ronel Alvarez of Murcia, Negros Occidental was now detained at the Police Station 7 custodial facility.
The 46-year-old Josephine Chua of Barangay Mansilingan told the police that Alvarez took her cellphone and sling bag after he threatened her using a knife around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Chua gave the items to Alvarez, who then ran away.
But bystanders were able to stop Alvarez. He was then turned over to the police./PN
