CAAP activates ‘Oplan Biyaheng Ayos’

ILOILO City – To ensure the smooth processing of Lent travelers at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) activated “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos Semana Santa 2019.”

The Oplan, which features a one-stop shop helpdesk merged with the national government’s Malasakit Help Desk, will last until April 25, according to Arthur Parreño, terminal supervisor and public information officer of CAAP Iloilo.

Travelers are welcome to seek assistance at the 24-hour desk positioned at the entrance of the airport terminal, said Parreño.

The desk is being manned by CAAP nurses, personnel of the Philippine National Police, Office of the Transport Security and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.

CAAP Iloilo has also put on standby an ambulance.

The inspection of travelers would also be tighter, according to Parreño.

CAAP Iloilo has also made sure all its airport security cameras (main gates, runways, fences, waiting areas) are functioning 24/7.

To avoid delays, overcrowding and over inconveniences, travelers must come early to the airport, said Parreño.

“They have to be here at least two hours before their flight para pag nag-random check kami indi sila ma-late,” he stressed.

Parreño also revealed that two airlines (AirAsia and Cebu Pacific) have added additional flights in and out of Iloilo./PN
