BACOLOD City – A man was found dead in a taxi in Purok 2, Barangay Libacao, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, police said.
Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the Himamaylan City police, identified him as Junie Celis, a cab driver from Barangay Dacutan, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Celis was found inside his Adventure taxi with plate number TO63006 around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
He bore stab wounds on the different parts of the body.
According to Benitez, his investigators have two “persons of interest.”
Officers from the Himamaylan City police station were still locating the suspects who may have been Celis’ passengers.
Meanwhile, scene of the crime operatives led by Superintendent Helen Pasoy from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office found P3,150 cash, a cellphone, a wrist watch, and a backpack from the taxi.
