CABATUAN Football Club, St. Paul School Barotac Nuevo and Central Philippine University captured a victory each in the 1st Bga. Marianing Futsal Competition at Iloilo National High School (INHS) and West Visayas State University covered gyms.

Cabatuan turned to Christian Tanamorā€™s impressive scoring to capture the boys U-18 championship at the expense of INHS-B while St. Paul-B claimed the third place by beating Iloilo Christian School (ICS) Barotac Nuevo.

On its way to the championship match, Cabatuan defeated ICS 9-2 while INHS-B scored 3-1 over St. Paul-B.

St. Paul School ruled the U-18 girls division after scoring 2-1 over Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School. Andrea Kate Mingoy was named Best Scorer for St. Paul School.

During their semifinal matches, St. Paul School defeated Tigbauan7-0 while Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School outlasted Calinog 2-0.

CPU Golden Lions, on the other hand, ruled the U-15 boys division 6-3 over St. Paul School. James Tuazon was the high-point man for Golden Lions.

Heading into the gold medal match, Golden Lions beat Guimbal 13-2 while St. Paul School routed Iloilo National High School 7-2.

A total of 27 teams in Iloilo city and province ā€“ 11 each in U-18 boys and girls, and six in U-15 ā€“participated in the tournament organized by the Futsal Association of Region 6 is sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation./PN
