ILOILO – The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the municipality of Cabatuan has been declared the best in the province in the recent awarding ceremony for the 2017 Search for Provincial Best PESO on Dec. 4 at Days Hotel Iloilo on Bonifacio Drive, Iloilo City.
Cabatuan PESO bested 10 other nominees to get a plaque of recognition and P8,000 cash prize.
Janet Pedrajas, Cabatuan PESO manager, said they established barangay PESOs in 68 villages and these helped their people find jobs.
The Cabatuan PESO also facilitated livelihood skills training with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, career coaching and government internship, Pedrajas added.
Cabatuan PESO also bagged a special award for having the most number of programs implemented.
Second placer was Oton PESO (P2,500 cash prize) and third placer was Barotac Viejo PESO (P1,500).
According to provincial government PESO chief Francisco Heler Jr., all the 11 PESO nominees received an incentive of P5,000 each.
The nominees were the PESOs of Alimodian, Balasan, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Viejo, Cabatuan, Concepcion, Igbaras, Oton, Passi City, Santa Barbara, and Tubungan./PN
